COVID-19 Community Update - Monday 25 January 2021 

Given the news a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 recently visited a number of locations in Helensville and South Head, we would like to assure our community of the steps being taken to address the situation.  

Pop-Up Testing Centre 

Te Whare Oranga ō Parakai, 5 Rere Place, Parakai. 

10am-5pm, Monday 25January 
9am-5pm, Tuesday 26 January         
9am-5pm, Wednesday 27 January 

Kaipara Medical Centre is also providing free COVID-19 tests for our enrolled patients as our capacity allows.

Please call us on 09 420 8400 and we will organise this for you. Our phones are busy, so there may be long wait, but please do hold on the line and we will answer as soon as we can.

Remember if you have a COVID test please isolate until you get the results; this is very important.

We have chosen to close our doors for regular appointments on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 January. If you had an appointment booked please call and we will offer a phone consultation with you instead, unless you are very unwell, in which case our nurse will assist you with a plan. Our doctors can see patients face-to-face if they deem it necessary and in that case they will wear full PPE gear (personal protective). 

If you develop symptoms or become unwell, seek medical help but phone ahead first. You can also phone Healthline on 0800 358 5453, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. 

Both Kaipara Medical Centre and the Pop-Up Testing Centre is likely to be busy at times, so there are other community testing sites you may prefer to use. They are listed here: www.arphs.health.nz. 

A reminder also of the symptoms of COVID-19: 

• New or worsening cough
• Fever
• Sore throat
• Temporary loss of smell
• Difficulty breathing
• Runny nose.

If you have any of those symptoms please have a test immediately and self-isolate until you receive a negative test.
