General Update

Nurses

Barbara our Practice Nurse Manager is excited to be to introduce 2 new nurses to our team at Kaipara Medical Centre,

Courtney – Courtney lives locally with her husband and has joined us from a practice in West Auckland.

Renee McDonnell - Renee also lives locally with her partner and young daughter. Renee has joined us from working at Waitakere Hospital.

General Practitioners

We are fortunate to have a registrar – Mike He with us until the end of June. Mike is doing his general practice training under Dr Phil Barter.

We also have Dr Kelsi Nichols who joins us on a Thursday. Kelsi works for the Armed Forces as her primary GP role.

We are actively recruiting to replace Dr Vaughan Lock, however in the interim we have employed Locum GPs to assist with offering appointments and to assist with cover when our GPs are on leave.

Administration

Phones

We usually have three medical receptionists to answer the phones and manage the front desk. At peak times this may mean longer waits than we would like to answer your call.

Appointments & Prescriptions

Please remember you can book appointments on Manage My Health and you can book repeat prescriptions. You are also encouraged to leave a message on the nurse’s phone with you name, DOB and what medications you require, and the nurses will action your request.

COVID Vaccination Roll Out

All the information you need to  know about the COVID-19 vaccination rollout in the northern region can be found on a specific website, which you can access here:

On this site you'll find information on when and how to get your free Covid-19 vaccine in our region, when it is available. The first group of people to be vaccinated are our border and MIQ workers and their households. They are our first line of defense against Covid-19 and protect us every day – so it is important we protect them and the people they live with first.

Frontline health and disability workers who protect the most vulnerable in our communities are also being prioritided for vaccination.
